As he realizes with a cringe, they know

When he performed some act so base
It could bring him ruin and disgrace

They know about it

That he thought no one would ever find
What shameful thing did they uncover

With once suppressed now raging guilt

Now he looks down as friends walk by
Afraid to look them in the eye
And every little smile he sees
Is torture because he believes
